Web-Based Project Management System

Catalyst™ is designed to facilitate communications, business processes and users collaboration in the various industries to bring together key components of project management in areas of project work management and document management. Focusing on its main objective to increase efficiency, productivity, and ultimately reducing operational costs, it provides individuals with the ability to manage projects from one single application. The application is further enhanced with collaborative tools which enables users to collaborate securely from different locations, in order to access, organise and share mission-critical information.

To stay competitive, companies are increasingly implementing initiatives to improve their project delivery by reducing project life cycle times, minimizing project costs, and controlling project quality. These initiatives require effective project management skills. With Catalyst™, clients will be able to initiate a project, create a task for that project and assign it to a person. The Catalyst™ concept is to keep the management of tasks simple while providing a global view of project status. Backed by an e-mail notification system, everyone on a project is completely informed, every step of the way.

Catalyst™ is developed on modular basis; all the modules can be implemented on a standalone basis or interfaced with other third party systems. Essentially, Catalyst™ comprises of three major modules all built on the IBM Lotus technology platform - Project Workbench, Correspondence & Action Tracking System as well as a Document Management System.

Project Workbench (PW)

 
 

The PW module key project management features include centralised project administration, project team registry, access control centre and centralised information storage for reference materials, templates of commonly used documents etc. The module also features many collaborative tools which enables users to collaborate securely from different locations through browser-based, single point of access, instant electronic workspace, round the clock accessibility, live and issue based discussion forums and sessions, as well as built-in task management system.

Correspondence & Action Tracking System (CATS)

 

The CATS module incorporates the ability to centralise, organise and categories various correspondence systems such as standard letters, facsimile and e-mails. In important industries or sensitive business operations, control and easy accessibility of these correspondences are extremely critical. The system incorporates a configurable workflow to enable approval of internal and external correspondences, as well as an audit trail of the records. Also included in the system is a minutes recording system whereby the respective tasks set during the meetings are tagged and tracked to ensure timely completion, monitored automatically by reminders and reports via e-mails. One of the core benefits of the system is to eliminate to a large extent the use of papers, which is not only environmentally friendly but more importantly for businesses, highly inefficient and costly to use, organise and maintain.

Document Management System (DMS)

 
 

The DMS module is a ready-built solution for storing and organising electronic documents for effective shared access by work teams. The system enables sophisticated version control so that each project team member has the latest versions of documents. Integrated with PW and CATS, Catalyst™ automates document-driven processes like review and approval, assembly and publishing, archiving, and records management. This module helps improve organisational effectiveness by providing centralised, consistent management of collaborative documents and information.
