Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad (ASEAMBANKERS)
is an investment banking arm and asset management group of
Malayan Banking Berhad and is one of the leading merchant
banks in Malaysia. Prior to the implementation of the Project
Management System, all business projects in Aseambankers were
monitored manually. In addition, there were no standard methodologies,
tools or systems used to monitor and track these projects.
This resulted in the Investment Banking Project Management
System (IBPMS) project, which was initiated to provide a web-based
system capable of managing, tracking, and controlling projects.
The objectives of the IBPMS were to deliver a web-enabled
system to:

Create a Virtual Operations Room (VOR), an online web-based
project operations virtual team room. In the VOR, team
members would be able to collaborate via the Internet
to share, update and exchange documents, perform task
management, identify and resolve issues as well as to
involve clients and professionals in the management
process.

Enhance job efficiency through the standardisation
of project methodology, documentation and other materials,
improve the speed of resolution of project issues and
finalisation of documentation through Internet access,
shortening time required for physical meetings and updates
as well as significantly reducing the amount of paper
utilised.

Enable updated and instant information availability
which would allow Aseambankers management to retrieve
day-to-day information for better resource monitoring,
customer relationship management and management reporting.
